This is an "after the fact" post. Almost a year. That's a long time for me to recollect but I'll do my best. So, this is essentially a small, fun photo album of some of the cars and such. Nothing too special as I'm still working out how to do this thing and work with the pictures I still have. On this trip I didn't posses a top notch camera and took all the pictures with my phone. But they should be good enough if you like the content.
I arrived in Germany and after a nap I wasn't sure what to do. Turned out, it was Secto Rally Finland that week so I rented a car and set out. I had approximately 1,500 kilometers from Frankfurt, Germany to Jyväskylä, Finland, heading north through Denmark and into Sweden. After a 10 hour ferry ride from Stockholm, I made it to Finland with only a few hours left until my first WRC event. Here are a couple of photos of the event, nothing too lengthy or anything as I develop my blog skills. enjoy?
I spent way too much. It was easy to get out of hand but now I'm quite set and so are some other people I was thinking about.
Finland is so beautiful. I am a huge fan of the forests and love the middle of no where.
I spent a lot of time watch Craig Breen's car get fixed after losing his rear wheel like we did in Colorado. The Puma, in my opinion, is the best looking rally car right now.
Kangasala, Finland
While I was in Finland, my brother back home actually told me about the rally museum there. The Finnish mosquitos were terrible on stage at the start of day 2 so I didn't mind checking out some rally indoors for a bit. Only a two hour drive from the town center of Jyväskylä, I didn't want to miss out this place while I was in town. Though not massive in size, it was an incredible time learning so much rally history and seeing all these cars from the past so alive!
I didn't take pictures of everything I could read but, I did end up snapping a few shots of some fun or what I though were interesting facts.
